This project involved helping a client reshape an existing self-help course so it felt less technical, more engaging, and more emotionally resonant for readers. The goal was to introduce vivid storytelling and personal anecdotes that could make the material easier to connect with while preserving the educational value of the original content. To do this, I conducted a detailed interview designed to draw out meaningful stories from the client’s life, then transformed those conversations into written sections that blended naturally with the existing manuscript. The final result was content that felt more readable, human, and compelling.

After this, we moved on to writing a self-help/autobiographical book that expanded further on the client’s personal experiences, ideas, and lessons in a more cohesive long-form format. This next stage involved continuing to shape lived experiences into engaging narrative material while balancing reflective storytelling with practical insight.

Scope of Work

• Conducted an in-depth interview to uncover personal stories, lived experiences, and anecdotes relevant to the book’s themes

• Ghostwrote a substantial portion of new content based on the client’s interview responses

• Integrated newly written material into the existing manuscript so it matched tone, pacing, and structure

• Shaped anecdotal material into cohesive narrative sections that supported the surrounding ideas

• Adjusted the overall tone to make the content feel less academic and more engaging for a general audience

• Edited for clarity, readability, and accessibility so the material could be easily understood at an average reading level

• Performed intensive editing, including proofreading, line editing, copy editing, developmental editing, and structural editing

• Corrected spelling, grammar, formatting inconsistencies, redundancies, and flow issues throughout the manuscript

• Reviewed the manuscript multiple times to refine placement, strengthen transitions, and ensure a seamless reading experience
