Hi! I’m Anushka, a music industry professional, writer, and artist development strategist working across the U.S. and India.

My work sits at the intersection of artist development, music strategy, audience growth, storytelling, and culture. I’m especially interested in what happens around the music itself: how artists build identity, develop audiences, create meaningful fan relationships, and turn creative momentum into sustainable careers.

I’m particularly drawn to emerging artists, global pop, Indian independent music, K-pop, fandom, and the ways music travels across cultures. A lot of my writing explores artist development, independent artist infrastructure, audience behavior, discovery, technology, and the evolving relationship between artists and fans.

Outside of World Of, I’m building DHUN, an artist development company focused on creating more tailored, artist-first pathways for growth. I also spend a lot of time thinking about the future of music, especially how technology and AI can support creativity without replacing human direction, authorship, and identity.

When I’m not thinking about music, I’m usually painting, making something with clay, cooking, traveling, or coming up with another business idea I probably don’t need.

Jeanne is a writer, researcher, and interviewer whose work has appeared in Memoir Mixtapes, Unstamatic, Voidspace Zine, and Trash to Treasure Lit. Her memoir-in-progress, Irresponsible Moods: A Father’s Lies and a Daughter’s Reckoning, was a finalist for the 2026 Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards, and her essay “Unexploded Ordnance” was longlisted for the CRAFT 2026 Award for Excellence. She was also a 2026 resident at Storyboard and her writing has been supported by McCormack Writing Center.

As an entertainment writer, Jeanne has interviewed artists working across K-pop and independent music and loves conversations that wander into the creative process, identity, and the strange machinery behind making art.

By day, she manages the prospect development program for a national nonprofit. When she’s not writing, she’s probably camping, photographing forgotten places, watching a K-drama, or waving a lightstick around at a K-pop show.

Kai Marshall is a music journalist and editor specialising in independent, alternative and underground music, with a particular interest in its political, cultural and historical contexts.

He is Deputy Editor at Indie Is Not A Genre and has written for publications including DIY Magazine and Nation.Cymru. His work covers artists, records, scenes and the relationship between music, place, class and identity.

Originally from the South Wales Valleys, Kai holds an MA in Art Gallery and Museum Studies and a BA in Politics and Modern History. His academic background informs his approach to cultural journalism, combining critical analysis with an interest in history, politics and identity.

I am a publicist by day and a writer/director by night. I've been involved in journalism since I was in 3rd grade when I started a classroom newspaper. Professionally, I work with authors in various genres but I primarily work with the healthcare and human interest industries. When I'm not building my career, I am working on my next screenplay. I recently wrote, directed and produced a five episode mini series called The Grand Rising project about Black ninjas in New York City. I also worked on a vertical series called Life After Layoff with a talented team of Black writers and directors. Recently, I'm been working on a sketch comedy series called Cut the Cameras which is inspired by The Muppet Show.

I really do enjoy listening to everything from RnB, Neo-Soul, Rap, Pop, Punk, Alternative, Country, and Musicals. Some of my favorite albums beginning to end no skips is Alessia Cara's album Growing Pains, Raye's THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE. and Docheii's alligator Bites Never Heal. I love when an album tells a story and has a very clear theme.

I currently live in Brooklyn, New York (originally from Illinois) with my pet guinea pig Antonio.

Hey, I’m Shani! I’m a storyteller, music lover, and media creative who loves talking to people, discovering new music, and sharing the stories behind it.

My background is in journalism, radio, social media, and digital content. I got my start in college radio, where I hosted and produced my own weekly show, interviewed guests, worked the board during live shows, and edited my own audio. I quickly realized that being behind a microphone and getting to have real conversations with people was something I genuinely loved.

I’m especially interested in the stories behind the music—who the artists are, what inspires them, how a song came together, and what makes people connect with it. I love discovering artists I’ve never heard before and getting excited about music that deserves to be heard.

Whether I’m hosting a show, sitting down for an interview, writing about an artist, or creating something for social media, I’m always looking for a way to make people feel like they’re part of the conversation.

At the end of the day, I’m here because I love music, I love people, and I love a good story.

Hi! I’m an author who loves music and am so excited to blend the two here at World Of. One of my biggest passions is finding the story behind the music, whether lore-related like in K-pop, or the emotional thread all artists place in their creative expressions.

If you can hook me with gorgeous lyrics and an interesting sound, I’m your girl. My favorite genres are K-pop/pop, some R&B, and some indie. Some of my top artists are TOMORROW X TOGETHER, P1HARMONY, Benson Boone, Jake Scott, BTS, Santos Bravos, and ONEWE. I played piano and participated in musical theater for ten years, which fed my love for the blend between music theory and storytelling. Music cannot be separated from the human emotional experience, and that thread informs all of my writing.

I’m excited to get the chance to help fans find new favorite artists, or learn more about bands they’ve been following for years. Music and the fandom spaces it creates have changed my life and I’m passionate about making those communities more accessible and visible to new fans.

Outside of World Of, I am pursuing a career as a fiction author and also teach creative writing to high schoolers. I’m just getting into the live music scene and would love to further develop my skills here, along with learning Korean and hopefully one day living abroad. When I’m not writing, I love to sing, go on road trips, and hang out with friends.

With already 3 published books and numerous online articles, Christine Ann Sy is a Registered Author/Writer under the National Book Development Board Philippines who is passionate for crafting poetries, short stories of thriller and young adult genres, and articles that revolve around pop media culture and advocacy for things that matter.

I'm Elizabeth, a freelance illustrator, artist, writer/blogger, and music lover. I enjoy fandom culture between music and dramas, spending most of my time in the K-Pop and Asian queer love spaces. My communities come to me for music and drama series recommendations, think pieces, and help looking for leads about art studios, production houses, whoever involved that brings everything to life!

I'm Jamie Caya, a 22-year-old music writer and journalist from Chicago. Over the past few years, I've helped emerging artists amplify their stories and scale their audiences. My work has appeared in FrontRunner Magazine and on my own blog, Caya Music Marketing, and now I'm stoked to share my voice with World Of.

I got into this during my time at the University of Colorado, where I saw talented musicians falling through the cracks of a media landscape that lacks independent coverage. That experience shaped my belief that curiosity and authenticity come before all and connect us all. I believe emerging artists deserve to have their voices heard and their talent shared. This is what has led me to write across the full spectrum, from EDM to psychedelic rock to bare-bones singer-songwriter.

When I'm not scoping out emerging talent, I'm catching shows at local venues, rock climbing, or cozying up on the couch with my pets.

I’m a huge K-pop fan but I’ve also found home in other genres such as indie, hyper pop, and alternative genres. My all time favorite artists are BTS, Panic! At The Disco, and King Princess. I love taking the feelings evoked by my favorite songs and albums and turning them into a written medium I’m able to share with others. As a queer and neurodivergent person with access to the internet much too early in life, fandom culture has always been something I’m greatly passionate about. I hold the connections I’ve made through fan culture very dear to me, as some of my best friends and happiest memories were born from a shared love and appreciation of music and online media. Hi! I'm Samruddhi, a writer and strategist, and music has pulled me in for as long as I can remember.

What hooks me most is everything behind the song: how an artist makes it, what the process looks like, and how they turn their life into something you can press play on. I'm just as curious about the parts most people scroll past, like how a music video comes together, the art direction, the branding, and the marketing that makes you feel like you've known an artist forever. I have opinions about all of it.

I love that music doesn't need a translator. You can miss every word and still feel it in your chest. That's also why fandom fascinates me, since it's where strangers from different countries end up screaming the same chorus together. I like writing about that, and about how the culture around music keeps changing (fast, and usually while I'm still catching up).

K-pop is a big part of my playlist, but I'll happily disappear down a rabbit hole in any genre, production included.

Away from the keyboard, I'm reading, watching movies and shows, and dissecting them far more than anyone asked me to. Most of my best thinking happens on a walk with music in my ears, so if I look lost in thought, I'm probably just deep in a bridge.

Hi! I’m Laura, a music writer bringing a business and research-minded perspective to the stories surrounding music. With a background spanning consultancy, sociology and business, I’m interested in using writing not only to describe what is happening in the industry, but to analyse it, understand it and explore what it can tell us about how music careers are built.

I’m particularly drawn to the moments that make me want to understand the music business better: a campaign decision, an industry development, a media conversation or an unexpected cultural moment. Through my writing, I hope to take readers beyond the studio and the stage and explore how artists, audiences and industry teams navigate the structures and decisions behind the music we experience.

During my master’s degree, I began exploring this approach through research into music marketing and TikTok, examining the strategy behind a major pop album rollout. Musically, I listen across pop, rock and Latin music, with a particular interest in women artists and the worlds they build around their work.

My passion is investigating about the influence of music throughout human history in different cultures and how it affected each of them.
I'm mostly into Kpop and Hip Hop, the stories and culture that surround these genres really influenced how I am now which helped to educate myself and to understand how some societies are wired. For me, being a fan of something is going to a deeper level of knowing why, when and how the music is created, and specially what inspires the artist; for me, analyzing the artistry of the music they make is part of the fan and listening experience.
The place where I'm the happiest at, is at a concert, listening to live music is my favorite hobby, no matter who is playing, but my favorites are P1Harmony, The Neighbourhood and Tyler, The Creator.

Hello! My name is Ella and I am a music journalist, academic and all-round massive fangirl. My interests are spread across many different genres, but you will find me more prominently in the K-Pop scene, spreading my views on K-bands and Idol groups alike (my favourites are Lucy, Xdinary Heroes, 8Turn and Enhypen).

Music is a part of my daily life, it is what keeps me going when things get tough and romanticises my days when they feel dull. I love band music; being able to layer each instrument together and identify how each instrumentalist contributes to the song is mind-boggling.

Outside of writing, I have done my undergraduate in Korean studies and my Masters in Translation. I also lived in Seoul for a year as an exchange student. My next academic goal is to fulfill my PhD in fandom and digital culture, starting next year at the University of Manchester.

Hi there! My name is Corina. Born upon ink and words and printed on a piece of paper, my pronouns are writing, reading and learning. I am able to catch the smell of something that is still untold yet desperately hoping to become real. Been doing it since I was little through writing tales and essays, and will continue evermore.

It is only fair to say that communication was my first love. Maybe that was the reason why I have dedicated 10 years of my life studying cultural industries, fan engagement and discourses told through transmedia narratives. Probably it is the reason why I can’t stop adding up languages to my count, as well.

Then, let there be music. Ever since my dad showed me who Freddie Mercury and Queen was –probably around the time I started writing–, I somewhat knew my life was going to spin around this field. Moved by the prosociality music and artists can promote upon its fans, and strongly believing words matter as much as actions, I keep on searching upon cultural mediation and the very use of music as a matter of connecting point.
