Review: Xdinary Heroes’ IMPULSE

Written by Ella Murray There is something wonderfully unpredictable about Xdinary Heroes. Released on October 12th, IMPULSE is the band’s ninth mini album and its first since becoming a five-member group. Across seven tracks, IMPULSE embraces the chaos of youth, the uglier sides of love, and the freedom that comes with abandoning expectations. Moving between […]

REVIEW: JO1’s Animal Offers Plenty to Dance To, but Leaves Its Identity Unsettled

ANIMAL is JO1’s most recent EP. Featuring 6 tracks, it incorporates elements of dance, rock, rap, hip-hop, electronica, trap, and R&B. The band endeavors to further diversify as it explores different genres and uses a musical formula borrowed from American musical influences. Due to this, the EP feels quite mixed to me as a listener. Overall, I would recommend select songs from this EP, such as “SAKURA” and “ANIMAL,” which offer a glimpse of what JO1 would be like if it had a more distinctive musical identity.

REVIEW: Made My Night Is Catchy, but “Aeiou” Steals LE SSERAFIM’s Show

LE SSERAFIM have already given me one song this year that I liked enough to become annoyed by it.

They’ve been pretty busy in 2026: April’s “CELEBRATION” led into their second studio album, ‘PUREFLOW’, Pt. 1, which arrived the following month with “BOOMPALA” as its title track.

Review: Miley Drops the Cyrus and Falls for the Dance Floor on Bass Persuades

Miley Cyrus is now just Miley, and her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, arrived on September 18th through Atlantic Records. The ten-track project follows 2025’s Something Beautiful with a new name, a danceable pulse, and a heart set firmly on love. Across roughly 38 minutes, it plays like a love story told from the first spark to the quiet aftermath, and it holds together better than most albums of its size.

REVIEW: Tinashe’s Popstar Exists Between the Fantasy and Cost of Fame

Tinashe released her debut studio album, Aquarius, on October 3rd, 12 years ago. In the years since, she’s pioneered a wave of pop that blends hip-hop, rap, and electronic music. Some of her most popular hits, like “2 On,” “All My Friends,” “Me So Bad,” and “Nasty,” have become classics, regarded as 2010s and 2020s pop anthems. More recently, “No Broke Boys,” her collaboration with DJ Disco Lines, became the biggest hit of her career and set the stage for her latest album – her eighth – Popstar.

Cortis Are Still Coloring Outside the Lines on ‘GREENGREEN’

South Korean boy group, Cortis, returned on May 4th with their second EP, GREENGREEN, which is the six-track follow-up to their 2025 EP, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES. Their debut project introduced a group that seemed much more interested in playing around than settling into one polished sound, and GREENGREEN doesn’t abandon that instinct. If anything,
